The Senior Safe House is Safe! In four short weeks, you raised $198,000 to ensure this essential program will stay open. We are currently raising funds to ensure this vital shelter will remain open for years to come!
Volunteers of America is proud to announce that the Sacramento Community recognized the need and importance of the Sacramento Senior Safe House. Together, individuals, foundations, companies and the County of Sacramento rallied to cover this year’s deficit. Today the Volunteers of America board of directors voted unanimously to keep the program open through this fiscal year that ends June 30, 2014. Although, without a consistent and reliable funding stream the future of the Senior Safe House will remain vulnerable. It will take a combination of public and private dollars to keep the doors open to protect and care for our vulnerable neighbors.
Additional gifts to the Senior Safe House will be used to sustain this vital shelter next year and for years to come!
